Walks/Scenery

  • Walk the harbor historical area (near the Black Whale, across from Cork) check out the East Coast's largest fishing fleet - 100's of draggers, scallopers, sea clammers, etc.

  • Fort Taber - on Rodman's Neck

  • Seawall - "Harbor Walk" - elevated dike-top scenic walking path -  - 1.3 miles long. 126 Gifford Street - on the way to Fort Rodman

  • Closer: Fort Phoenix Park, playground and beach - take route 6 across Pope Island in Fairhaven at the hurricane barrier.

  • Longer walk: West Island State Reservation, Fairhaven, beachy, rocky, secluded. 15-20 minutes from downtown by car.
